Jupiter trines Saturn; Uranus turns Direct; Winter Solstice; Venus turns Retrograde

On Thursday, Dec. 12th, retrograde Jupiter in Cancer trines Saturn in Scorpio. This is a positive cycle during the holidays to help deepen emotional connections with significant others and family. This is a good time for re-evaluating longer term goals and may bring some new opportunities you have previously overlooked.

On Tuesday, December 17th, the planet Uranus turns stationary direct at about 8 1/2 degrees Aries, ending its retrograde cycle. The Full Moon happens to occur on the same day at 01:28AM, pacific time. This is a timer when things usually come to the surface for you to look at. This period creates more energy and even impulsiveness, so think twice before making hasty decisions. There is an increased desire to exchange ideas and participate in more social activities.

During the second half of December, Mars in Libra forms an opposition to Uranus in Aries as it squares Pluto in Capricorn. This is also referred to as a “Cardinal T-Square.” This is the first of three times this configuration will occur as Mars transits the sign of Libra. The next times will be in April, (cardinal cross with Jupiter in Cancer), and June of 2014. April’s configuration involves four planets, (Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto), in the “cardinal cross” and is when the next big crisis is likely to rock the world and financial markets again.

This first time around for this planetary configuration is probably not as problematic during the second half of this month, but will increase the drive for more independence, being active, and getting things accomplished. You may feel the urge to let go of any unhealthy attachments and move forward in a new direction in some areas of your life. On the other side of the coin, remember to practice patience and keep the peace with others. A balance needs to be reached between your personal desires, goals, and the needs of others and family.

On Saturday, December 21st, is the Winter Solstice. This is the longest night of the year and officially marks the beginning of the Winter season in the northern hemisphere. On the same day, the planet Venus turns stationary retrograde at almost 29 degrees of Capricorn. Venus’ retrograde will last until very end of January, 2014.

As Venus retrogrades, it’s a good time to re-evaluate what is truly important to you as you set your new years goals at the beginning of the year. Especially in relation to your career goals. Issues related to love or self worth may also need to be examined. This often involves unfinished business with significant others from your past. Don’t be too surprised if he or she calls you or shows up knocking on your door out of the blue. Remember you heard about it first from me!

Happy holiday wishes and blessings to you all!

Astrologically yours,
